CME - Caller ID block

Sun, 16 Jul 2006 22:06:47 +0000
For both internal and external calls
ephone-dn
caller-id block
* This does not apply for E1R2, because caller id blocking is a flag in the setup messages and E1R2 does not support that. This does not apply for FXO, because caller id is controllerd by Telco on FXO. Use translation patterns to change caller ID to null

IPCCX - provisioning CTI port and Media termination groups

Tue, 25 Jul 2006 00:29:41 +0000
CTI ports take only 1 ms to reinitialize (ie, to get back to operation after a call is disconnected), but CMT groups will take upto 200 ms to reinitialize. IPCCX will not answer calls if there are no CMT ports available. So make sure you provision 10% more CMT ports than CTI ports.

Random Fun Tip On VTP

Thu, 21 Aug 2008 04:45:42 +0000
Tonight I encountered something in my home lab I have never seen before.  It had me puzzled for quite some time and frankly was driving me nuts.  I finally just figured it out and had to share it with the world.  Now, I am not fortunate enough to have access to any 3550/3560s yet, but ...]

Do You Link to Your Sources?

Mon, 19 May 2008 21:17:23 +0000
Too often I come across an interesting piece of information on a blog that does not contain links to the author’s sources. That’s too bad. All I can do at that point is shrug my shoulders and wonder if the story is true. Then I’ll probably close that browser tab and go somewhere else, because ...]

In those days, the hands-on test was two days. One day of build-it and one day of fix-it after they break it. Stuart Biggs, one of the senior Customer Engineers at Cisco, assembled the lab gear and wrote up the test. The network gear was AGS, AGS+, and MGS routers. Cisco didn’t have switches at that time. I kept Stuart running around getting documentation, appliques (for the AGS gear), cables, and other things. I don’t know which of the two of us was busier.

So what is your verdict on ccie routing and switching lab after reading so much about ccie routing and switching lab? Do you feel that the matter given here is sufficient to make a verdict?
